Tea for Joint Health
NutraJoint Tea
NutraJoint is a tea for joint health. It’s a blend of turmeric and black pepper’s active, synergistic medicinal compounds. This resilience tea helps deliver relief from inflammation, promotes overall joint wellbeing, all while managing pain associated with injury and arthritis.
Turmeric
Together, turmeric and piperine are a powerful combination for managing joint pain and inflammation. The main medicinal compound of turmeric (Curcuma longa) is curcumin. Curcumin has strong anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties which help reduce inflammation. Inflammation is at the root of joint pain and conditions like osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Consuming curcumin reduces joint pain and improves function like non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), but with fewer side effects. Curcumin by itself is poorly absorbed by the body — it gets metabolized too quickly to be very effective on its own.
Piperine
Piperine is an alkaloid found in Black Pepper (Piper nigrum). It significantly enhances the absorption of curcumin, increasing curcumin’s bioavailability by up to 2000%. This makes turmeric much more effective at lower doses. Piperine also has mild anti-inflammatory properties itself, additionally benefiting joint health.
NutraJoint tea contains curcumin (50%), green tea (30%) and piperine (20%).
NutraUric Tea
NutraUric is an alleviating blend of the natural diuretics cherry, nettle, turmeric, banaba leaf, orange peel, and piperine. These herbs all help ease swelling surrounding joints, flush out uric acid, and minimize inflammation and discomfort.
Cherry
Cherry (Prunus cerasus), particularly the tart kind, is rich in anthocyanins, which are potent antioxidants with strong anti-inflammatory effects. Consuming cherry can reduce markers of inflammation, such as C-reactive protein (CRP), and help decrease joint pain and stiffness. This is particularly helpful for people with gout, as tart cherry lowers uric acid levels and reduces the frequency of gout attacks. Additionally, the antioxidants in cherries help combat oxidative stress, which is a contributor to cartilage breakdown and joint degeneration over time.
Nettle
Stinging nettle (Urtica dioica) has a long history of use for joint pain in traditional herbal medicine. The plant contains compounds like quercetin, chlorogenic acid, and other polyphenols that have natural anti-inflammatory effects. Nettle helps reduce the activity of certain inflammatory pathways in the body, including those involving tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), which plays a big role in joint inflammation. Nettle can reduce the need for NSAIDs in people with osteoarthritis.
Banaba Leaf
Banaba leaf (Lagerstroemia speciosa) is known for its role in blood sugar control, thanks to compounds like corosolic acid. However, it also exhibits anti-inflammatory properties that benefit joint health. Chronic high blood sugar and metabolic dysfunction are linked to increased inflammation in the body, including the joints. By supporting healthy glucose metabolism and reducing systemic inflammation, banaba leaf indirectly protects joints from damage. Also, banaba extract can inhibit the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines, which can help manage joint pain and swelling.
Orange Peel
Orange peel (Citrus sinensis) is rich in polymethoxylated flavones (PMFs) and other antioxidants like hesperidin and naringin, which have notable anti-inflammatory effects. These compounds help reduce the production of inflammatory mediators in the body that contribute to joint pain and swelling. Orange peel also contains vitamin C, which is critical for collagen synthesis. Collagen is an essential component of cartilage and joint tissue. By supporting collagen production and reducing oxidative stress, orange peel can help maintain the structural integrity of joints and potentially slow the progression of joint degeneration.
NutraUric tea contains dried cherry (30%), nettle (20%), turmeric (20%), banaba leaf, orange peel and piperine.
The main causes of joint pain are injury, overuse, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, gout, autoimmune diseases like lupus, obesity, and chronic misalignment. NutraJoint and NutraUric tea blends are helpful for relieving pain in all these cases.
